Mirantis was pleased to take an active part in the formatting and editing of this initial publication by Russoft which addressed the reality of the Russian IT market with a look to remove the mystification of Russia as a place for outsourcing IT.
Significant changes have occurred in recent years and the focus of this project was to provide an objective assessment of these recent changes with a current overview of the industry as of June 2005. Further objective of this publication was to provide factual up-to-date information that would supply a framework for choosing an optimal outsourcing destination.
The pool of scientific talent available in Russia today continues to attract Western companies to open wholly owned offshore development centers in Russia. Mirantis being the first to extend to its clients’ core R&D capabilities by creating an offshore TDC that seamlessly integrates with the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model that ensures the client a systematic process guaranteeing a smooth transition from the managed TDC to a wholly owned offshore company operation. Mirantis was able to integrate the remote operation for Cadence and in less than three years achieve their goals and execute a transfer option of the BOT relationship, making Cadence and Mirantis the first in the industry to bring to fruition the successful completion of a BOT. Today, the Cadence Russia development center is the third largest R&D site in the company.
Mirantis assisted Genesis Microchip Group, a manufacturer of display controllers that receive and process digital video and graphic images for viewing on a flat-panel display in creating a group in St. Petersburg of highly skilled engineers. This enabled Genesis to extend its software, firmware and IC development to satisfy their growing customer requirements.
Veritas Software Corporation contacted Mirantis to help develop software that would allow Veritas to significantly improve the performance of their ServPoint Appliance product in the competitive market.
