Business Model
From its inception in 1997, Mirantis has singularly focused on the Product Development space. Closely working with clients on strategic product development programs, Mirantis has realized the limitations of the traditional outsourcing model in the context of core product development. Critical success factors such as time to market, quality and retention of human capital, and integrity of product development processes require a different business model and operational strategy.
Mirantis’ business model is structured around the creation and operation of Product Development Centers (PDC).
In PDC, Mirantis effectively creates an extension of the client organization. Operationally, PDCs are very similar to captive product development centers and fully integrated with the rest of the client organization.
The PDC model enables Mirantis clients to extend their core product development capabilities and leverage best development talent while retaining the integrity of their culture and product development processes.
As Mirantis supports core product development activities for its clients, predictability of operations and team value retention are critical. Thus Mirantis has coupled the PDC concept with a buy-out option where client can transition operations in-house at a later stage.
