Congrats to Chandra Dodda, Outstanding Employee Award Winner

Each quarter, our HR team asks managers across the company to nominate candidates for our Outstanding Employee awards. Outstanding Employees not only embody Mirantis’ core values but also produce outstanding results for our business.

The winner for Q4 from our Professional Services team was Chandrasekhar Reddy Dodda, a Sr. DevOps Engineer in the OpenStack Services group. According to the teammate who nominated him, what sets Chandra apart is “his willingness to jump in and help anyone at any time.” He has a reputation among clients and colleagues alike for his ability to quickly solve almost any problem.

Thanks to his deep knowledge of Mirantis OpenStack for Kubernetes, he is extremely versatile and has had lasting impacts on many key accounts. He has empowered the rest of the Professional Services team to drive success for the business by creating detailed documentation and runbooks that proved to be essential for any Mirantis Container Cloud or Mirantis OpenStack for Kubernetes deployment.

Chandra has been at Mirantis for a little over four years. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, he helps Mirantis clients successfully migrate workloads to the cloud. Naturally, his favorite tools are Mirantis OpenStack, Magma, Kubernetes, and Docker.

When asked to describe some highlights from his time at Mirantis, he said there are many, but then singled out his extraordinary learning path. “Initially I started with OpenStack,” Chandra said, “and then I moved to Magma (4G LTE and Carrier-WiFi). Now I’m working on Kubernetes.”

In 2020, Chandra presented a talk with Facebook Connectivity at KubeCon Europe, “Using Kubernetes to Make Cellular Data Plans Cheaper for 50 Millions Users,” which you can watch below.

He gave several reasons why he loves working at Mirantis. Company-sponsored travel to technical summits and conferences is one. He has also traveled overseas to the Asia Pacific region to help customers set up Magma with Kubernetes. He also finds that his managers and colleagues at Mirantis are especially supportive. If you like roles that challenge you to learn, he added, then “this is the place for you.”
