Mirantis Container Runtime for Windows Server

Install Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR) on Windows Server. Get or extend support for the leading enterprise-class, FIPS 140-2 validated container runtime (formerly Docker Engine-Enterprise).

To install Mirantis Container Runtime on Windows Server, please fill out the form (see right) to obtain a one-line PowerShell command to download the MCR installer script to your Windows host. Instructions for running the script can then be found at https://docs.mirantis.com/mcr/current/install/mcr-windows.html.

Effective May 1st, 2023, users of many Microsoft-published Windows Server VM images will no longer receive built-in licensing and support for Mirantis Container Runtime. This means customers will no longer have access to updated images and security patches for CVEs. Users must procure licensing and support directly from Mirantis.

What is Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR)?

Mirantis Container Runtime (formerly Docker Engine – Enterprise) is the secure, industry-standard container engine designed to run containers on Linux or Windows, powering mission critical applications at the world’s leading organizations. MCR will be of particular interest to enterprises running Docker Swarm, and enterprises running Kubernetes using the familiar Docker CLI for container management with a fully-supported CRI compliant container runtime.

MCR is designed for security, supporting validated FIPS 140-2 FEDRAMP-compliant encryption. It supports execution prevention for cryptographically-unsigned or improperly-signed containers, and is integrated closely with Mirantis Secure Registry to support image signing as part of a secure software supply chain.
