OpenStack Training Update, July 2014

The increased adoption of OpenStack is causing an exciting domino effect: not only has the demand for OpenStack professionals risen, but there has also been a corresponding increase in the demand for individuals with proven OpenStack skills. That’s why the walls here at the Mirantis training facility have been buzzing with excitement. Not only are we helping our students advance their OpenStack skills, but our vendor-agnostic certifications also continue to help those students showcase their skills to the rest of the world.

Mirantis Recognized for Providing Vendor-Agnostic OpenStack Certification

The simple truth is that the factors that make the IT profession so rewarding are the same factors that make it challenging: staying abreast the evolving IT landscape requires a continued dedication to learning and advancing your skills. Helping cement this importance is our recent recognition by Networking Computing as one the “Best IT Certifications for Cutting Edge Skills”.  As noted in the article, “As OpenStack becomes a prominent feature of corporate architectures around the world, IT professionals with expertise in the field will be sitting pretty.” At Mirantis, we are proud to be the only company to offer a vendor-agnostic OpenStack Certification path.

Mirantis’ certification test helps those knowledgeable in the field gain the proper (and well-deserved) recognition of being an OpenStack administrator -- someone that is flexible and adaptable to any OpenStack environment. In addition, those who pass Mirantis’ OpenStack certification test are excited for their newly certified, advantageous skill. Upcoming OpenStack Meetups - OpenStack 101 by Mirantis:

Free for all attendees, there are two OpenStack events in Boston, MA and Sunnyvale, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) posted on Meetup. Mirantis is invited as a main speaker at these two events, and we hope to see you all there as well. These meetups are a great way to get involved in the OpenStack community and learn more about what it means to be an OpenStack engineer. Below are highlights for each event as well as the event link for additional information.

Happy Birthday, OpenStack! Jul 10, 2014 Boston, MA

OpenStack will be celebrating its 4th birthday with snacks and refreshments, giveaways, and some surprise activities sponsored by the OpenStack foundation. Amongst the featured events is a beginner’s OpenStack 101 presentation by Mirantis’ John Devereaux. An important sidenote: the NERD Center requires all attendees to show a government issues photo ID in order to gain access into the building. The full event page link is here.

South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner Track, Sep 5, 2014 Sunnyvale, CA

Mirantis will be leading a beginner workshop for those with little to no experience with OpenStack. This is a great way to meet others in the OpenStack community and expand your devOps horizons. Register for the event here.
