Winning prize $10,000 for originality, proven results, and relevance to others

CAMPBELL, Calif., June 13, 2023 – Mirantis, freeing developers to create their most valuable code, today announced the "K8s Engineering Challenge: Showcase Your Bespoke K8s Platform" contest. The competition invites Kubernetes professionals to demonstrate their innovative and customized Kubernetes implementations.

Bespoke Kubernetes platforms can make a substantial difference for businesses and users, offering unique advantages over off-the-shelf solutions. The objective of the contest is to highlight the impact of specialized, tuned-up, or custom Kubernetes platforms in specific use cases. The contest highlights innovation and exceptional execution that contributes to the advancement of cloud-native technologies.

Contestants have one week to submit their entries, which should include the following.

  • A one-page write-up detailing the use case, scope, and distinctive features of their bespoke Kubernetes platform.

  • Results and benefits experienced by users compared to a vanilla or off-the-shelf Kubernetes platform.

  • An architectural diagram illustrating the design of their platform.

  • Bonus: A short video clip showcasing a live demonstration of their bespoke Kubernetes platform.

The winners will be awarded generous prizes, including a $10,000 cash award for the first-place winner, $3,500 for the second-place winner, and $1,500 for the third-place winner.
